Glass Mat: I highly encourage students to color with their project sitting directly on a glass or other non-porous surface, with NO scrap paper underneath. Non-absorbent surfaces allow Copic ink to stay wet longer and this improves your blending. Scrap paper does the opposite, it dries your project faster and that decreases your odds of a smooth blend.

Many students have noticed a marked improvement in the smoothness of their blends by making this simple switch.
